Professional support

How we support professional artists & practitioners

This programme is for new to mid-career artists and practitioners from any dance genre or location.

The programme aims to support professional artists and practitioners by reducing the financial pressures a young dancer faces when trying to grow and develop their professional career.

Each participant will receive financial support and guidance to enable them to gain skills development and continued training such as dance technique, creating, auditioning, marketing, creative problem solving, producing and mentoring. A goal plan will be agreed between each participant and Swindon Dance which outcomes will be measured against.

The offer:

    • 2-years of support,

    • bursary up to £2,000 (£1,000 per year),

    • tailored support based on each individuals’ goals and aspirations,

    • one-to-one mentoring and advise,

    • free rehearsal space and access to the studio’s resources,

    • marketing and communications support, and

    • further paid working opportunities at Swindon Dance.

This is not a tutor led course and each dancer will be expected to be self-motivated and be able to research, plan and implement their own plan towards achieving their goals.

The scheme runs from 1st April for two years.
Applications are currently CLOSED. Next round of applications opens summer 2025 for our 2026-28 scheme.
