Born in Wiltshire, Dan Baines began dancing at the age of 7 before joining Swindon Dance’s Centre for Advanced Training Scheme. He then joined the National Youth Dance Company with choreography by Damien Jalet.

Dan graduated from Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance with a First-Class Honours Degree in 2020. He worked with many choreographers including Christopher Bruce, Rosie Kay, Akram Khan and Matthew Bourne.

In his third year of training Dan was an apprentice dancer with BalletBoyz where he is currently a company member touring their latest programme ‘Deluxe’ with works by Maxine Doyle and Xie Xin.

“I am so honoured to be a part of the Swindon Dance Professional Programme as it has supported many amazing talents throughout the years. After attending classes at Swindon Dance and being a part of the CAT Scheme I was able to achieve my goal of continuing my training at Rambert School. Returning and reconnecting to Swindon Dance now as a young professional is incredibly gratifying. I’m looking forward to exploring and sharing with other artists on the programme, mentoring students on the Talent Development Programme, and I‘m excited to see what I can create with the support and guidance from Swindon Dance.”
